How to Get a Canadian Grant

When it comes to obtaining a Canadian grant, there are hundreds of corporations and foundations that are seeking worthy individuals and initiatives in which to invest. Community based and educational functions are prime candidates for government funded grants. Key individuals who qualify are also highly looked upon for receiving funding.

With the recent economic downturn the Government of Canada is doing everything it can to keep businesses running and people working. Anyone over the age of 18 is eligible to apply for a Government Grant for various purposes such as education, home payments, business expansion, new businesses and much more. There are online programs and resources that will show you all available grants you can apply for and what they constitute. Most online resources to apply for grants have a small processing fee (Usually $1.00-$1.95) to verify you are of legal age to apply.

There are also private donors who have less legislative constraints and are much easier to apply and get a grant from. Private donors simply want to know what you will be doing with the money and what they can expect to receive in return (in the long run). Private donors are almost the same as applying for a government grant except you will have to talk to the individual instead of sending your application to the Canadian Government. Although it is a different process, for some people it may be the best option and a win win situation for both parties.
